The main view

After you've logged in at Rapla, you will arrive at the main window.

The main view is divided into three parts: The menu area, the selection area on the left side, and the the large calendar area in the center. In the function selection area you will find all the available Rapla functions. If you click on one of them the work-area will change to the appropriate view:

(1) Calendar
The default view. Use the calender to view the allocation of resources, add or modify meetings.

(2) events
This link leads to an event-overview. Here you can select events, see their details.
Note: You can get the same functionality of the event-overview by using the right-mouse button in the event-tree in the [calendar], which makes this view kind of obsolete in the current version of Rapla.

(3) resources/personel
This link leads to resources and personel view. Here, an overview is provided of the available system resources and allocations. Administrators can administer (add, edit, & delete) resources and their types.
Note: You can get the same functionality of the resource-overview by using the right-mouse button in the resource-tree in the [calendar], which renders this view kind of obsolete in the current version of Rapla.

(4) Conflicts
Conflicts are something you would like to avoid, but from time to time conflicts develop such when two persons reserved the same room for the same period. The conflict view offers means of recognizing and eliminating conflicts.

(5) options
This link leads to the Options page where the user-specific attributes of Rapla can be changed. For now, only the change of the login password is possible. Options provides also plugin points for the different plugins such as [HTML-export|Html Calendar Installation] or [email-notification|Email Notification Installation].

(6) categories (administrators only )
Categories add flexibly to the system such that it is possible to arrange lectures and seminars in various way. Resources and personel can also be grouped by types or even in hierarchical manner such as faculty/institute/department. See the [Simpsons Example|Testing The Simpsons] for quick overview of the possibilities you'll get with categories. Since Rapla 0.11 [permissions] can be grouped with the help of categories as well.

(7) users (administrators only)
Add new users accounts or delete existing ones. You can also switch to any user to change their options.
